Leyth Sharaf is a high school student at Dubai College in the UAE, where he balances academics with leadership on the basketball court as captain and point guard for his school team, as well as a player in Dubai’s Hoop Mountain league.

A lifelong fan of epic stories, Leyth loves reading, watching, and creating fast-paced adventures that explore big ideas. He believes learning should be engaging, accessible, and fun, an outlook that inspired him to write Seventeen Missions to Save the World, his award-winning debut novel. Told with humor and adventure, the book introduces readers to the seventeen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by imagining the dystopian futures that could emerge if they are ignored.

Beyond writing, Leyth enjoys building creative learning communities. He runs SAT a Day, a vocabulary-building Instagram account designed to help teens prepare for the SAT in an entertaining way, often featuring his King Charles Spaniel, Troy. He is also passionate about supporting his local ecosystem and founded CoolCat, an initiative that repurposes coolers into shelters for stray cats, helping protect them from Dubai’s extreme heat.

Through storytelling, education, and community action, Leyth aims to inspire young people to learn deeply, think creatively, and take responsibility for the world around them.
