J. Timothy Hunt is an American/Canadian writer. He is the author of nine published books, and has been nominated twice for Canada’s Governor General’s Award, and four times for the Canadian National Magazine Awards. He has received two Canada Council Grants for writing and has been writer in residence three times at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, New Mexico.

Under the pen name Tim Beiser, he is a bestselling children’s book author, with award-winning books illustrated by Rachel Berman and Bill Slavin.

As a Script Supervisor in the Toronto film and television industry, Timothy has worked on dozens of feature films and TV series. He holds a master’s degree in film studies from Staffordshire University in the UK.

Timothy, his husband, and twin sons split their time between their homes Toronto, Canada, and Grignan, France.
