Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., William Shaw is a recently retired college professor. One-time Study Abroad director, as well, Shaw led many student groups through Ireland, studying and visiting sites associated with Irish history and literature. Shaw also spent one term as a Visiting Professor at University College Cork.

 

In addition to his novel, On the Run, Shaw authored one highly regarded memoir of his uncle’s unique combat experiences in WWII — Fellowship of Dust: Retracing the WWII Journey of Sergeant Frank Shaw. His digital newsletter, Wormwood: Reflections on an Endangered Nation can be found on Substack.com.

 

Shaw and wife, Connie Kretchmar, currently live in North Carolina.
