Arnold Eslava-Grünwaldt is a former U.S. Navy journalist and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.

In addition to Choice Cut, he has written two other books, Shortcut and Half-Cut. He is currently working on the fourth book in the Cut series, Cutout.
