BOOK REVIEW: I LOVE YOU, LET'S MEET:
Have you ever thought about finding someone through online dating? Well, here is a great book for you to read.
Virginia Vitzthum has written a very comprehensive book about online dating. She includes the stories of several people who have done this including her own.
The author points out that there are four main differences between regular dating and e-dating. She also states that one of the most "wonderful and terrible" gifts is the chance for creative self-expression. This is where everyone gets to really do their "thing" as far as being a poet, comedian, etc.
One of the really interesting stories told is about Scott and Lila who were almost like old friends by the time they decided to meet. They established a great connection that continued on as they began to talk face-to-face. Their story ended up a success - they got married and had children. They also agree that they probably would not have ended up together if they met the "normal way". The one thing that really impressed Lila was when Scott logged off one day by saying "gotta run, I'm taking my grandmother to lunch." He had to be a great guy!
Some of the questions this book will help to answer for you are:
How does the trajectory of a relationship change when it starts with a profile?
With so many options at our fingertips, how do we settle on one person?
How do we know when "too good to be true" really is?
So if you are looking to find that "right" person you just can't seem to find no matter how you try, you should read this book. The author also gives us some details about many of the online dating services available. All sixteen online daters mentioned in this book do not turn out to be 100% successful but that is to be expected. The author gives the reader both the pros and cons of online dating. If you are thinking about online dating and at the same time would like an interesting read, this is the book for you!
