BOOK REVIEW: PERFECT NIGHTMARE
Steve Marshall has received a job promotion and is now working in Manhattan. The decision was made for he and his wife to sell their house even though it was their daughter Lindsay's senior year in school. As a result, Lindsay was not too happy.
One night Lindsay disappeared from her bedroom. The police believed it was just a case of a runaway teenager due to the fact that she was not happy about her future move to New York. Lindsay's mother, Kara, did not believe this assumption. Lindsay mentioned to her that someone invaded her room during the real estate open house.
Kara starts to become obsessed with the idea that her daughter was taken from the home. Her husband urges her to get some help from other people whose family members have disappeared.
Kara meets Patrick Shields who knows very well what Kara is going through. Patrick lost his wife and two children in a house fire. The two of them realize that many people are missing when houses are placed on the market.
Who is the person stalking the community? Do Kara and Patrick find Lindsay in time?
John Saul has written an exciting thriller. You will be hooked from the very first page and the writer continues to reel you in page by page. When you get to the end of the book, you will wish there were more pages to read. This book is that good! What really makes this book so chilling is that the deranged killer's thoughts are interwoven in the first person in between some of the chapters. You will really feel this chill right from the beginning of the book. This is one you don't want to miss. This book is highly recommended.
