BOOK REVIEW: THE 5TH HORSEMAN
Lt. Lindsay Boxer is shopping with the newest member of the Women's Murder Club, lawyer Yuki Castellano and Yuki's mother, Keiko. All of a sudden, Yuki collapses. She is rushed to the San Francisco Medical Center and diagnosed as having a transient ischemic attack. She starts to recover but days later, Yuki receives a phone call telling her that Keiko was given the wrong medication and as a result had a fatal heart attack.
This is not the first time a mistake like this has been made at the San Francisco Medical Center. These events seemed to follow a pattern. Just when the patient was getting better, they would take a turn for the worse.
Who is doing this? Is it someone from the hospital? Is it someone sneaking into the rooms of the patients?
Lt. Lindsay Boxer and other members of the Women's Murder Club start their own investigation. As a result, the hospital finds itself in the middle of a thrilling court battle.
At the same time, Lt. Boxer is also involved in the investigation of a young woman who was found murdered. Lt. Boxer wants to be released from her present position and go back to the streets as a detective.
Does the Women's Murder Club solve this case?
It is great news to see another book about the Women's Murder Club. James Patterson and Maxine Paetro have teamed up again to write another in this series. James Patterson never leaves one wanting for more tension. It is always there. The character of Yuki makes a nice addition to the Club. She comes across as being full of energy and ready to take on any battle. James Patterson and Maxine Paetro do an excellent job, as always, to make the storyline flow very smoothly throughout the book. If you are a fan of The Women's Murder Club, this is a must read book.
