BOOK REVIEW: TWAS THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Jack Field, an ex-NYPD police officer, now lives in Maine and owns a kennel. Jack acts as a consultant to his girlfriend, state medical examiner Dr. Jamie Cutter.
Jack hoped to spend a quite evening with Jamie when her phone rang. He advised her not to answer it since it was Sunday. However, she disagreed because it was probably work related. Jack knew by the expression on her face that the call was about a dead body.
The body of the maid, Amy Frost, of the Bright Mansion, was found lying on the steps. She received trauma to her head by an unknown object. The Brights believe the maid's ex-boyfriend, Thomas Huckabee, did it. The Brights also plant false evidence that points to Huckabee.
Other strange things begin to happen including the disappearance of Karl, the family chauffeur.
Are Jack and Jamie successful at solving this case?
This is a fun mystery to read. It has a plot that is exciting and one that will make you keep turning the pages. You will also enjoy the interesting tales about Jack's dogs, which add great deal of humor to the story. Lee Charles Kelley fans are in for a treat with this one. Be sure to add this book to your reading list. It is one you will thoroughly enjoy.
