BOOK REVIEW: 20TH CENTURY GHOSTS
This book includes a collection of fourteen stories that can be described as creepy, bizarre, and quite different compared to anything else you have read. There is an explanation here as Joe is the son of authors Stephen and Tabitha King.
The stories are all excellent but two of my favorites are: “20th Century Ghosts” about a young girl who haunts an old movie theater and “Last Breath” about a family who visits a very strange museum.
In each of these short stories, Joe does a wonderful job in creating his characters and gives the reader a detailed explanation about the problems that exist in their lives. This description gets the reader very involved in the story.
I became a fan of Joe Hill’s writing after reading “The Heart Shaped Box”. 20th Century Ghosts was actually released prior to “The Heart Shaped Box” in a limited edition and the book became the winner of several awards.
If you are a fan of the supernatural, “20th Century Ghosts” is a must read book for you. This is one of the best collection of short stories I have read. I highly recommend this book.
