BOOK REVIEW: INVISIBLE SHIELD
As Officer Lindsay Frost, homicide detective, says good night to her partner Gerard Alvarez, Alvarez warns her to be careful. Little does Lindsay know that this will be the last time she will be able to communicate with her partner. The next time Lindsay sees Alvarez he is viewing her body. Lindsay has been killed during the night. Although she was murdered it is first thought that she committed suicide. Her partner doesn't believe it and neither does her sister Kate who is also a police officer.
Lindsay finds that although she is dead her spirit hasn't moved on but remains in the area where her death has occurred. Lindsay learns to communicate with her sister Kate and Kate can actually see her although no one else can. Lindsay partners with Kate to locate her murderer. Kate has no recollection of what happened the night she died although she does remember feeling a sharp pain and then everything went black.
With the help of some spirit friends that Lindsay has met she learns of various abilities that she can use to seek information and help Kate to locate the killer.
The book is an interesting concept of what may happen after death particularly if the death is violent. It is sad when Lindsay sees her parents and knows of their suffering but can't reach out and give them comfort.
I don't know if the author intends to write further stories of Lindsay in her spirit world but with the group of spirit friends she has gathered around her another book would no doubt make for interesting reading.
