Judith McMonigle Flynn and her cousin, Renie, think they are going on a vacation in California. But, their husbands decide to surprise them and they are on their way to Scotland to Grimlock Castle. The husbands go off on a fishing expedition with the local Scotland Yard police inspector. This leaves Judith & her cousin Renie alone at the castle with nothing very exciting to do.

But, there happens to be a car explosion and a murder, and this of course peaks the interest of Judith. She and Renie are out to solve the murder and the plot thickens. Another murder is committed at the castle.

Judith and Renie find themselves in a couple of tight spots and Judith thinks that the husbands have been detained by the bad guys.

This was an entertaining book. There were a couple of funny spots that make you laugh out loud when Renie takes on a couple of the bad guys in the book. It was a good read and it kept your interest until the end. This is the first book by this author that I have read, but I will be going back to read her previous Bed-and-Breakfast Mysteries.
