BOOK REVIEW: THE WATCHMAN
Joe Pike is a former LAPD cop and ex-marine. He was enlisted to protect Larkin Conner Barkley, the daughter of a wealthy real estate tycoon. One night she was involved in a car accident and her life was never the same again. One of the passengers in the other car fled the scene and for very good reasons - he was a well-known drug smuggler. In a few short hours, Larkin would be a federal witness in a case against the mob. After several attempts on the girls' life, Pike enlists the help of P.I. Elvis Cole.
The strange thing is that each time Pike and Larkin hide out at a different place, they are found. Why? Is someone leaking their whereabouts? If so, who would be doing this?
Pike soon discovers that everything isn't what it was expected to be. He is not even sure he can trust the cops.
Will Pike and Cole be able to put the pieces of the puzzle together in time to save Larkin?
A warning to readers - get ready to hold on to your seat because this book is full of non-stop action. The best part about it is the author makes the reader feel like they are right in the middle of everything that is taking place. You just can't wait to find out what is going to happen next. The author does a masterful job of creating several surprises for the reader. This book has it all - great characters, an exciting plot and non-stop action! We can only hope that this "Joe Pike Novel" will turn into a series so we can look forward to reading much more about this character.
