BOOK REVIEW: ASHES AND BONES
Emma Fielding, an archaeologist, has everything she could possibly want. She has landed a job at the university, has a beautiful home and a happy marriage. Strange occurrences start to happen and Emma thinks she knows why.
Emma and Brian were on vacation in Kauai but she could not stop thinking about the postcard she received with just one word written on it - "soon". Brian kept trying to reassure Emma that the card could not have come from Tony because the fingerprint did not match and Tony was presumed to be dead.
Tony Markham was also an archaeologist and one of Emma's former colleagues. He got mixed up with a few criminals and they were responsible for the death of Emma's friend, Pauline. The authorities believed that Tony was lost at sea during a hurricane but no body was ever found.
As Brian and Emma arrived back at their hotel room they were both surprised to see a long white box on the bed. Emma assumed it was from Brian. However, it was not from him. As Emma opened the box, she saw a knot of lillies of the valley which is something she associated with Tony.
Is Tony still alive and trying to frighten Emma? Is someone playing a hoax on Emma? Emma is sure it is Tony but who will believe her?
Dana Cameron has written a novel that will keep the reader guessing throughout the book. There are several twists to the story and the author does an excellent job of keeping the story fast paced and smooth. This one has loads of suspense so get ready for a real nail biter. Be sure to add this one to your reading list. You will be glad you did.
