is another excellent book in the 101 Most Powerful Series. J.
Stephen Lang has taken 101 of the Bible's most powerful proverbs and
explains them in language easy for the reader to understand.
Each day many people turn to the Bible for help with
challenges they face and decisions the have to make. This book
is filled with advice to help with these challenges.
author states that the Book of Proverbs exists because "we did not
pay enough attention to our parents, or to our Father. It is a
book of authority, and what is authority but a means of using the
knowledge of some for the benefit of others."
One of the
excellent analogies to today is made by the author in Proverb 2:28
which states, "A man without self-control, is like a city broken
into and left without walls". Mr. Lang states that with no
self-control a person is defenseless, the same as a city with no
walls is defenseless almost certain to be attacked.
This is an excellent addition to the Most Powerful Series in
helping people to understand the proverbs and apply their meaning to
today's world. As with the other books in this series, this
one is easy to understand and is written for the purpose of making
reading the Bible easier. Each reading ends with a
resolution. This is a wonderful book to read. It is also
an excellent selection for Bible study groups to read.
This book will be sure to open the doors for discussion.
